Quality sleep increases growth hormone, and in non-obese individuals, fasting has also been shown to improve sleep. Sleeping and fasting really do support each other and go hand-in-hand! The best news is that you can use sleep to optimise and make your fast easier. Since you’re going to be skipping a meal, and most people start by skipping breakfast, you can get a double-whammy by having an early dinner the night before and sleeping through breakfast time on a weekend.
