Suzy Homemaker's Cheesy Baked Polenta

I posted a picture of this one on my instagram, thinking that people would appreciate it for the good, honest food that it is... I wasn't prepared for all the recipe requests! This one is so easy to make that I feel like a bit of a fraud even sharing the recipe. This is a great meal to have up your sleeve, because it makes a great breakfast (with poachies, avo and spinach), lunch (with tuna and salad, or dinner (with lamb shanks or bangers and greens).

Cherry Ripe & Granolas' lovechild

28/7/2019

Cherry Ripes are the treat that I miss most from Australia: cherries, coconut and dark chocolate. This isn't that, and it isn't pretending to be. But if supermarket granola had a grown-up cousin, and that cousin had a love child with a Cherry Ripe, this would be it.

CBD bliss balls (a few variations)

28/7/2019

We don't take many supplements in our household, preferring to get everything we need from our varied, largely unprocessed diet. The exceptions to this rule, are magnesium and CBD.

We take both of these supplements because they are proven sleep-aids, and when you sleep better, you recover faster, think clearer, feel better, and make better food choices. It helps us put the 'sleep' in our SLEEP | EAT | MOVE | REPEAT!

But not all supplements are equal - the quality varies enormously. We take a practitioner-only brand Magnesium (Metagenics), and TruthNaturals CBD because it’s organically farmed, 100% THC free, and UK compliant. The 'THC free' part is really important for me and my job.

Suzy Homemaker's zucchini (courgette) & bacon slice

14/5/2019

To me, this is proper 'Suzy Homemaker'/1970's Australian housewife stuff. Good, honest, nothing fancy, 'stick it in the oven and let it to its thing' kind of food... that everyone just so happens to love! It's also perfect lunch box, work lunch, or picnic food.

We had a few friends pop over for an impromptu brunch on the weekend, and I whipped-up this incredibly delicious, veggie-filled zucchini and bacon slice. We all loved it. The neighbours asked what I'd been cooking because it smelled amazing. And then everyone wanted the recipe. To be honest, I was not expecting such a response, otherwise I'd have attempted to take a better photo ;-)

Carrot cake chia & oat pudding

4/5/2019

This is by far my favourite chia pudding, but I am biased.
I often judge a cafe based on how good their carrot cake is. A wedge of moist, cinnamony, walnut-filled goodness is hard to beat, but obviously can't become a daily habit. Plus, 'cake for breakfast' is something I have always loved. The real deal might only happen twice a year (the day after my birthday and boxing day), but this healthy-take brings all the best bits from a carrot cake and turns it into something nutritious and filling enough for breakfast whilst maintaining it's sweet, indulgent, cakey roots!

Paleo 'doughnut cupcakes'

21/2/2019

We’d just returned to the UK from a trip to Australia where we’d been enjoying the occasional Noshu sugar-free doughnut.

JC had a hankering one day, so I got googling recipes and Noshu ingredients and what I came up with was pretty delicious. I didn’t have a doughnut mould on-hand, so I just used cupcake tins, and, JC doesn’t like cream cheese frosting (don’t get me started!), so he opted for dark chocolate drizzle only while I went all in with the ridiculous pink ones!

Basically, t
his is a hybrid of a recipe I found on the DietDoctor website and the Noshu sugar-free doughnut list of ingredients.
