Many of my clients are busy individuals – from the time-poor new parent to the full-time worker looking after their family – which means I MUST make sure that EVERY healthy habit I have them put in place, produces the biggest bang for their buck.
Over the years I’ve worked many different healthy habits into my client’s lifestyle, but here are the two BEST habits I believe EVERY time-poor individual needs to adopt:

1.     Stay hydrated
2.    A recovery tool

Staying hydrated

We’ve all heard the saying that if you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydration but how much harm can a little dehydration cause? Keeping in mind that a 3% loss of water[i] is classified as being dehydrated, here are a few facts for you:

·      A loss of 1–2% impairs cognitive performance and memory skills[ii]
·      A fluid deficit of 4% decreases performance, causes headaches, irritability, sleepiness and increases the respiratory rate with increase in temperature among children[iii]
·      Dehydration also impairs muscle endurance and decreases muscle strength[iv]
·      Fluid depletion of more than 8% can cause death[v]

Carrying a bottle of water with you at all times is not only time-efficient but will benefit many aspects of your day to day life as well as your current health and wellness goal.
A Recovery Tool

This habit usually looks different to every client but it’s important that you find SOMETHING which helps your mind, body or both recover.

For most people who are busy, they’re over-doing it and under-recovering which leads to burn-out. I’ve seen it numerous times which is why I WORK HARD to help my clients find that ONE THING which helps them relax.

This could be one early night a week or 5-minutes of silence in the morning sipping on your coffee – it doesn’t matter what it is but it’s EXTREMELY important that you find and implement this healthy habit.

Even just a few minutes a day or once a week can make ALL of the difference – trust me!

I’d love to know what you think and please share this with ANY family member, friends or colleagues who you think will benefit from these healthy habits.

Speak soon,
